Our Story: From a Home Kitchen to a Growing Bakery Cooperative

Our bakery’s journey began in 2005 when Mrs. Matsi was retrenched and made the brave decision to turn her passion for baking into a livelihood. With limited resources but a strong sense of purpose, she started baking scones from her own home kitchen, using a household stove to supply small orders within her community.

As demand grew, Mrs. Matsi began catering for weddings, funerals, and private events, earning a reputation for quality, consistency, and care. Each order was prepared with dedication, perseverance, and a deep sense of faith. As a God-fearing woman, she trusted the process, remained resilient through challenges, and continued to build her business step by step.

Over time, this journey evolved into the vision of a bakery cooperative — a space not only for growth, but for job creation, skills development, and community empowerment. Today, the bakery operates with industrial ovens while staying true to the values it was founded on: hard work, integrity, and service.

Our story reflects what we stand for — locally rooted baking, continuous improvement, and meaningful partnerships. From a home kitchen to a growing bakery, this is a journey shaped by faith, perseverance, and a commitment to serving our community with excellence.
